A good
article from early BOK champion, Jim Santo, of ALTERNATIVE PRESS's late,
lamented DEMOUNIVERSE column. Jim also published one of the better, and certainly
one of the more important (along with
GAJOOB), web sites
dedicated to homemade music,
JIM SANTO'S DEMOUNIVERSE.
Alas, that site is now defunct as well.
Jennifer Holl contributes a nice
feature on BOK in the feature magazine section of Harrisonburg,
Virginia's Daily News-Record.
Jen Bonds contributes a long feature on Jim,
again from the Daily News-Record. Probably the single best article on Jim.
Reproduced with permission of Jen Bonds.
Early in his career, Jim had friends write what he usually referred to as
'Obligatory liner notes' for each of his albums.
Here is the first of those essays,
recently rediscovered, written by Jordan Williams.
There have been
several interesting essays written about Jim by fans and friends.
This one's by long-time fan and aspiring film-maker, Andrew Neckowitz. It
originally appeared in December 1999 fanzine, NOTES FROM UNDERGROUND. And then
there's this
one by Jordan Williams. Long-time friend, Gary Bugg,
published
this
article several years ago in Harrisonburg High School's paper, the NewsStreak.
From Billy Brett of Buck Gooter, an
insert article
Billy wrote to include with some 7" singles I laid on him that he's giving
away while on tour with Buck Gooter.
Here's a little
blurb from
an advertisement for a Karl Rove appearance at The Little Grill, November 15,
2006
Here's an
essay by Billy Brett of Kill Your
Brain and Buck Gooter concerning the final Book Of Kills show.
