Well...in an effort to put something up for folks to listen to, here are a couple of very brief tracks from practice yesterday.  They sound clunky and that's because they are but that's because this is the first time we've actually worked on this new song other than a few practices ago when I introduced the opening riff to the band.  Too, I think I always sound like a total dork when I listen to myself talking about a new song during a practice, but whatever...

Session 1
Session 2

I'll continue to upload practice excerpts...like I said before, the people who're checking out this web site regularly are part of the band.  We want you to be able to at least listen in on occasion...even if I do sound like a dork.

I was pretty dubious about uploading this track.  I'll tell you why...it doesn't sound anything like what I want the song to sound like.  Instead, it's a sort of clunky second take acoustic demo onto which I added some quick electric guitar and an extra voice, mainly so that I wouldn't forget the song.

Having said that, this is the first thing that I wrote with Amy (the only thing thus far) and so, I think, deserves release in this very rough form.  We tried it out once or twice a couple of weeks ago, but haven't gotten back to it yet.  Regardless, I decided to upload it because there are a lot of people who have been checking in with me, in both BOK and now F+W, on a regular basis for a long time in part because they know I cherish each of them and try to consistently reward their interest in my and my band's music by providing them with interesting content.  Everyone who comes to this web site or goes to see a show of a band I'm in or downloads a track of mine is in my estimation a virtual member of the band.  And I want them to feel as though they're constantly in on what's going on within the band.  So...what the heck, you know?  Why not let the virtual members of the band hear this stuff?  In a way, it's theirs just as much as it is mine or Amy's or whoever's.

I actually hear the song as a sorta in-your-face psychedelic ballad with distorto hip hop-ish drums sweetened by a pretty, poppy melody.  (Honestly, I can never achieve on tape or digitally the perfect sounds I hear in my head). To get a flavor for what I'm talking about, I included a few seconds of the band trying out the song for the first time.  Literally.  Amy and Jeff are playing along with me without even knowing what I'm trying to do!  (I hope Amy ends up singing this song, since so many of the words are hers!)  Also, the recording is extremely distorted, so beware.  And...enjoy.  I hope that we'll be able to provide you all with hours of listening pleasure down the road.  And I do apologize for the roughness of these tracks.
